WHAT IS LCA?

The Leaving Certificate Applied is a distinct 2 year programme aimed at preparing students for adult and working life. It benefits those who are not adequately catered for by the general Leaving Certificate programme. It is a student centered programme which recognises the talents of all pupils and promotes communication and decision making skills in all the students.

THE AIMS OF LCA

The Leaving Certificate Applied programme aims to prepare students for the transition from school to working life. It aims to develop the students' decision making and communication skills. It involves active teaching with an emphasis on developing literacy, reflection and developing links with the local community through work experience and other such initiatives.
