The parents of students in Fingal Community College play a key role in the life of the school. They are encouraged to participate in school life both in formal and informal ways. The Parents’ Council is open to all parents of students in our school and meets approximately five times a year. The Council gives parents the opportunity to voice their opinions and views on issues relating to the education of their children and other issue of school life. The Council is involved in fundraising, in policy development and in the book rental scheme. Each year the parents help to organise and host the social aspect of the 6th Year graduation and also are involved in the annual school walk. Two parents represent the parent body on the Board of Management.
The Council will not be a forum for complaints against either teachers or parents. Complaints should be dealt with through private discussion between pupils, parents and teachers.
