Congratulations!

Two of our 5th year students have been chosen to receive awards for their Scratch projects. Henrique Palma is one of the 4 winners of the Scratch Regional Competition. Paulina Stasik is highly recommended in the regional category.  Well done to both of you.

Henrique has been invited to compete in the National Finals taking place this Saturday, May 22nd, in the Institute of Technology, Tallaght.  This is a fabulous achievement as only 10 projects from all over the country have been invited to compete.  Best of Luck Henrique.

What is Scratch?

Scratch is an easy to use interactive programming tool aimed at children and young adults.  It is a free program developed by researchers at MIT and has a worldwide following.  You can get it from scratch.mit.edu, and some excellent learning materials can be found at scratch.ie.  You can make simple games and interactive stories with it, and you need no programming experience whatsoever, though you might learn some from using Scratch.
Most of all, it's easy and a lot of fun.
